stevew
Hello All: Several of our WRR members are intending to meet the Zone 6 Grand Tour Group (being led by Fritz from Fernie to Canmore to Fort Saskatchewan for a "hand off" to the Polar Region participants) in Longview at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 29th. Note: some of our members are already intending to meet Fritz and the group in Fernie - but this group will meet them in Longview instead. From there, we will travel Hwy 40, over the Highwood Pass and into K Country - stopping for lunch at Boundary Ranch - and then continuing to Hwy 1, Morley, and back to Canmore where the group is staying for the night. We will meet at the Westhills Second Cup at 8:00 a.m., and then drive to Bragg Creek, Millarville, Turner Valley, Black Diamond and Longview. Come and join us for a fun day with the group that is circumnavigating Zone 6 this summer! Please RSVP here, and also call me know at 403 999 3053 if you are intending to join us, so we can let Fritz know by July 25 (or before) how many people there will be for lunch at Boundary Ranch. Please go to the Zone 6 Grand Tour Route and Description at http://zone6-pca.org/regiongrandtour.html. for more information on the overall tour, accomodation and facilities. Perci
Hi Steve The handover is actually at Saskatchewan River Crossing, not Fort Sk. I will be at Longview, as I am starting the tour in the US, and ending Longview/Canmore/wherever. malcolm
thx Kev...........I hope any detour can facilitate LFOs (low flyin' objects) Quote '21 Macan GTS PDK Miami Blue/Black, 7k kms '93 928 GTS 5 speed Polar Silver/Linen, 192k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Black/Ivory, 190k kms '09 Cayenne GTS Tiptronic Nordic Gold/Black, +336k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Red/Champagne, 110k miles (US car) Link to comment
KevinJ
I hope so too! Has anyone driven this in the last few weeks? Quote 22 Porsche Cayman GT4 21 BMW X5 Link to comment
calgary7er
I took that route on a solo run a couple of weeks ago and it was perfectly fine. The detour is a low speed section that has a small amount of gravel but really is nothing to be concerned about. Most of it is driving through a paved camp/hiking site so very little "off road" driving involved. On a side note, I am trying to free up my schedule to meet you all at 8:00am but am finding it difficult. My understanding is that the group coming up from Fernie will be coming through Longview at around 11:00-11:30, and I might have to meet you all somewhere around there. Where in Longview were you planing to catch them and at what time? Ps: I did the route after I put the very low Porsche aero kit front bumper on my 997 and it was perfectly fine afterwards so "Low Flying Objects need not be concerned (driving through the Cranston Sobeys parking lot is a different story though). dragon
I can attest to how low the bumper is so Malcolm, you should be fine. Quote Link to comment
