vr6tee
A buddy decided to step up his HP. The goal for this car is around 1000 HP (825 WHP). I'm hoping to have it completed in 1 week. Alex
Holly Shyte! You guys don't mess around! All these mods are on the standard 997.1TT Mezger engine case? How much HP will the Mezger engine handle without self destruction...curious? I thought it was around 800HP. vr6tee
The Mezger "completely stock" will take 1000 HP (Tuned properly of course). I put down 855 WHP for 1 year with zero signs of stress on the engine. After 1000 HP, the rods and head studs need to be upgraded. The rest of the engine is good to 1200 HP. After that, I recommend new pistons/liners. The stock heads will rev to 7500 RPM, but above that need new springs. I'll be pushing 1500-1600 HP with a stock case. Quote Link to comment
Alex
WOW! That is impressive....must see when you're done! Thanks for the updated info on "my" engine vr6tee! 9Elfer
Like others before me, I cant wait to see this on the street! A few questions: - do you need to run a special fuel? - are the turbos watercooled? - planning on doing the "Texas Mile"? Marc Quote Link to comment
vr6tee
I struggled tracking down a cranking issue for the past 2 days. It turns out it was the tune for the Cobb Accessport. Hours wasted, but glad it's resolved. Electrical issues can be tough to hunt down. This car is running on pump gas / Methanol injection. The owner will fill up at the pumps like any car, and every 2nd or 3rd fill will have to top up the Methanol in his frunk. These turbos are water cooled. I used 2 factory lines with adapters on the turbos and 2 custom made water lines. I don't think this car will do the Texas Mile. He just wanted to step up his power and got a deal he couldn't refuse on the parts & labour I'd be interested in taking my car to a couple 1/2 mile events to see how it would do.
