Kelly9972S
Looks like my battery is done. OEM replacement is lead acid. Canadian Tire has AGM at 1/3 less. Also, any special precautions to be aware of? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Perci
Watch for the size of the battery, both for the hold down brackets, and the length of the cables. Quote Perci PCA DE Instructor 2014 Cayman S 2000 Boxster S 2000 Carrera 2010 Panamera 4S 1989 928GT Link to comment
dragon
I picked up one from Canadian tire. Ultra agm size L4/94R is an exact fit. You can go a size down if your battery tray has the extra tie down holes. Just check to make sure it comes with the vent tube & black plastic tube end. I noticed some batteries on the shelf were missing those extra items. Quote Link to comment
Kelly9972S
Thanks for the info guys. Called dealer and he doesn't recommend AGM for this model year. He says the charging system may not be compatible with AGM! Quote Link to comment
Mark
i have ran an agm in my 944 and 914 for the last 4 years and had no problem with the charging system. when the battery dies in my 997 i will put one in. it is still a 12 volt battery just different technology. Quote Link to comment
Kelly9972S
Thanks I'll check this out. I thought AGM batteries don't have vent tubes. Quote Link to comment
Kelly9972S
Good to know. I heard battery chargers have a different setting for AGM so the dealer info made sense to me. Thanks for your help. Quote Link to comment
