oasis
I have to replace the clutch on my 01 996tt and was wondering peoples thoughts, preferences, and experiences with clutches. The car has a europipe cat back exhaust with a tune, I was thinking of doing the sachs oe set up, I assume this would be fine for the mods and I do not plan on doing anymore mods or I was also thinking about the Spec stage 2 ….thoughts? KMR 968 Turbo
I went with the clutch recommendation from Tunerworks for my modified 996TT. I believe it was a Sachs Motorsports clutch. Worked great and held the power. Personally I would not get anything else. Check with Rob or Bobby. Quote Link to comment
malcolm
how many miles on the car and how it has been driven may dictate whats required for the project. Theres many components that make up a clutch; rear main seal, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc(s), pilot bearing, release bearing, drive shaft, slave and master cylinders, hydraulic hoses etc. Most of these components can be difficult to access for evaluation and its perhaps better value to consider replacing most, if not all the pieces when you have the assembly apart. If nothing else it gives peace of mind for many years and many miles Quote '21 Macan GTS PDK Miami Blue/Black, 7k kms '93 928 GTS 5 speed Polar Silver/Linen, 192k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Black/Ivory, 190k kms '09 Cayenne GTS Tiptronic Nordic Gold/Black, +336k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Red/Champagne, 110k miles (US car) Link to comment
vr6tee
Don't buy a spec clutch. Get the Sachs 764. It will take you up to 800 HP. Quote Link to comment
