dragon
So I've been meaning to post this up a while back but oh well. I measured my tire wear before mounting my summer shoes back on. I'm running the mpss tires in a wider than stock configuration: 245/35r19 & 325/30r19's & I'm running an aggressive street alignment. The fronts are 5mm inside tread / 6mm outside tread & the rears are perfectly flat at 6mm. Brand new the tires are 10/32" or appr. 8mm. The fronts have over 21,000kms on them & the rears have about 5,000km. I think the combination of alignment settings (toe) & the suspension components that were locked in have definitely helped the even tire wear. Quote Link to comment
malcolm
sounds like the setup is working well; 21k on the fronts with 5mm remaining is great wear. Rear tyre wear is a direct association of the angle of the foot on the loud pedal in my experience Quote '21 Macan GTS PDK Miami Blue/Black, 7k kms '93 928 GTS 5 speed Polar Silver/Linen, 192k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Black/Ivory, 190k kms '09 Cayenne GTS Tiptronic Nordic Gold/Black, +336k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Red/Champagne, 110k miles (US car) Link to comment
dragon
Yup, the skinny pedal gets the most workout lol Quote Link to comment
dragon
I figured I'd update this thread. Just measured my tread depth. The fronts are 4mm inside tread / 5mm outside tread & the rears are perfectly flat at 5mm. Brand new the tires are 10/32" or appr. 8mm. The fronts have over 25,000kms on them & the rears have almost 10,000km. This also includes the spokane autoX & the 2 club autoX events. Alignment specs if anyone is curious are: Fronts: -1.0 camber & 0.00 toe Rears: -1.9 camber & 0.10 toe on each side Quote Link to comment
