Fuel pumps

Porsche altererd the fuel pump design by adding a secondary pump in the fuel tank to provide enough pressure in extreme warm weather. Given we dont live in this climate has anyone deleted the secondary pump and replaced with a fuel filter as are the previous cars? The era was circa early 90s.....thx

I'm not sure I follow what you are after, but my understanding is all the CIS cars had the primary pump in the fuel tank (and filter). CIS typically uses a high pressure pump and returns unused fuel to the tank by a return fuel line. I don't recall a second pump in those cars.

You could add a second filter, but I'm pretty sure you can not remove the in tank pump easily.

Not CIS but LH computer controlled fuel injection.....all countries were fitted with the external pump as OEM with the additional intank pump for hotter climes...Australia and mid East as examples before all cars for all countries were fitted with both.
