**WURST Oktoberfest Celebration and Porsche Club Car Show - October 1st, 2011**

Before everyone packs up their Porsches and tucks them away for the year, WURST restaurant and beer hall (2437 4th Street SW) has offered their brand new freshly paved parking lot for our club to host a show and shine event on Saturday October 1st. We would have exclusive use of this paking lot next to their building (the old Wildwood on 4th St. SW) from 10AM-1PM.

WURST will be hosting an Oktoberfest celebration from Sept 30th to Oct 16th and this would be a great way for us to kick things off. Brunch will be available from 10AM-2PM. Shine up the cars as they have donated a number of $100 Gift Certificates to be handed out to fan favourites, oldest car, etc!

For those not aware, Wurst is a great venue with a heavy German theme that ties in nicely with our club. I have done up an article reviewing them for the next newsletter (mailing out very shortly). They are hoping to work more with us on an ongoing basis and develop a relationship with our club.

Please reply back to this thread if you have interest in attending as we want to make sure we can field a decent turn out and on the flip side we are limited to about 35 cars. If the weather cooperates this would be a really fun event!

Sounds like fun, we will be there

:(CHANGE IN PLAN

Our 968 is still getting the roof fixed (it should be ready by end of day Saturday for the drive on Sunday.) There is no way we could have it at WURST with the top down. We will still drop by with our other German vehicle but of course it won't be in any kind of Porsche show. We do look forward to seeing the other cars and chatting with some of the members we have not met yet (there a lot since we are new to the club.)

Sounds like Wurst is going to have a couple of servers in Bavarian uniforms for photo ops with the cars if people are interested ...

(tasteful pics only of course)

Kevin - if you and your camera are on stand by this could also be a really cool newsletter cover photo potentially.

Dave, I think the more the merrier (cousins are always welcome - especially really cool rare ones).

Glad to see lots of people replying and a real interesting mix of cars! Now lets all just pray for a nice day!!!

Latest forecast calling for 26 and sunny on Saturday!!! :)

(not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing at this point as forecasts always change in Calgary - but we can hope!)
