Help: Replacing Rubber Damper at the engine side in a 968

Hi all,

I have a 1992 Porsche 968 Tiptronic and I'm having some nasty noises from the front of the torque tube (at least that's where the noises seems to come from). I was told that very likely is the rubber damper. So, sometime this/next month I will remove the starter to inspect the damper. So, in case the damper is the problem:

1.- this is my first time working in a water cooled Porsche and I wonder if any of you have any pointers in how to remove the torque tube.

2.- if the car needs a new rubber damper, has anybody replaced one? if so, any instructions?

3.- I read that the damper can be replaced with a clutch and a flywheel, has anybody done this conversion?

4.- if the flywheel/clutch swap is possible, is anybody selling one set? (i heard that it doesn't have to be new)

5.- I am assuming that 944 S2 parts would work in my 968, any Ideas?

Thank you for your help.

cheers,

Carlos
