Great experience driving the GT3 Cup car at the Circuit Bugatti on 10 May 2013 with 11-time Le Mans racer Christophe Tinseau instructing.

Bob, good question - a lot of data was captured on every lap by the Motec system fitted to the cup car. Hopefully you can view the attached screen shot, an example taken from Lap #10 during the afternoon sessions on the Circuit Bugatti. After each session, the data was downloaded from the car to a laptop. I can bring the Motec program to the monthly meeting for those who are interested. Some highlights: Max speed 219.8 kph, max rpm 7980, max lateral G-force 1.29, and max longitudinal G-force (i.e. under braking) 1.03.

The screenshot shows for Lap #10 the revs ranged from a low of 3732 up to 7590. Cup car redlines at 8400 RPM but we stayed well short of that all day. Not sure if you would consider the gearing or shifting short, but yes the revs climbed quickly due to weight of just 1,150 kg (power-to-weight ratio of 2.7 kg per horsepower) owing to all the carbon fibre in the door panels, rear panels, wing, etc. The car specs are at:
