9Elfer
Hi Folks, I was driving back from the Okanagan on Monday and bumped into 2 California Gullwings at the Chevron station in Golden, BC. I said hello and mentioned that I would likely be in Banff with the Porsche club to see their cars. They responded by telling me about the very poor treatment they received by Canadian Customs border officials (and therefore "Canadians must hate Americans")! I felt bad for them then and worse still 1/2 hour later as the developing snow storm deposited a thick rind of ice on the front of my car................... The blue car with the beautiful knock-off Rudge wheels was restored, but the red one was completely original!!! Will we ever see these cars here again? Marc 88 Carrera Quote Link to comment
Rick
Hi Marc Thanks for the sneak peak of what Saturday holds in store for those of us planning to make the drive. Looking forward to seeing all 35 .. first hand. Barnsey Quote Link to comment
Rick
Well ... good afternoon everyone ... Today's drive to Banff was eventful in several ways. #1.) Tremendous turn out for the drive. 25 cars ... and we remainded as a group for the entire trip. Quite a spectacle in our own right making our way down the main drag in Banff. #2.) The Gull Wing cars at the Banff Springs were stunning to see. Coupe's & Roadsters ranging in age from 1954 - 1961 ... Wow. #3.) And we rolled the GT3 odometer through a milestone on the return leg of the drive. Most notable about that was I was not a the wheel ... rather my trusty co-driver (and Single Malt Scotch aficionado) for the day Dan. Enjoy the post ... and I will look forward to seeing more pics of the Gull Wings from others that attended. Barnsey! Edited September 13, 2014 by Rick Quote Link to comment
Nostrathomas
Thanks for leading the drive, Rick. I'm a Porsche guy...but if there's any car that makes us look pedestrian, it's a Gullwing. They were simply stunning. Some shots of my own (there are more in the Flickr album if interested). Quote 1990 964 C2 - Guards Red 2007 Cayman - Guards Red (former) Link to comment

Danielle
Phew... glad all the snow melted!! The white remains made for pretty scenery we don't usually see on a summer drive. P.S. Congrats on the milestone Rick! I also enjoyed lunch with you dozen boys too. Who knew we would be able to sit on a patio baking in the sunshine??? Quote Link to comment
