Orbital Polisher Needed for a Couple of Days
KevinJ posted a topic in Detailing, Washing and Interior care
Does anyone in the club have an orbital polisher and pads I can borrow for a couple of days this week. Earlier in the week would be better. Kevin - Earlier

I purchased a fantastic cup holder for the Cayman only to discover it does not work with manually adjusted seats. Holds drinks securely, attaches directly to the seat rail, can be swung out of sight when not in use. Asking $200, original price paid, you save the shipping & duty.

Link to a Postmedia writeup in anticipation of this year's event which appeared in the Calgary Herald Saturday: https://driving.ca/column/on-the-road/a-lifelong-love-of-all-things-mercedes-led-calgary-man-to-willow Maybe give it click so Postmedia knows there is continued interest in their Driving section otherwise it may disappear. -

Our club will set up two pop-up tents for shade. There will be food trucks there, or you can pack a picnic lunch and join us under the tents. Bring your folding chairs, relax and enjoy great company & hubub of the car show around you. Here's a picture of our PCA corral from a previous year:

Hi Danielle: Looks like I missed a good event. I was just back from Le Mans, France and fighting jet lag so choice conservatively to stay home. If you have any inclination to write this up and send me some photos for the newsletter it would be much appreciated. Kevin newsletter@porsche.ab.ca

It would be great if you could write up this as a short how to article for our newsletter! Kevin newsletter@porsche.ab.ca

This year's camping trip was an absolute blast! We were incredibly fortunate with the weather: There were 2 separate half-hour rainstorms that passed over on Thursday evening and 1 on Saturday evening. Afternoons were hot & sunny with random puffy clouds to give respite from the heat. We enjoyed evenings by the fire well into the night and set up an autocross for the kids during the day. We watched an owl hunting mice in our group area for an hour on Friday morning. Only 5 cars came for Saturday's picnic drive, but we blame the ominous weather forecast and the fact it was Father's day weekend for the low attendance. The camping part was a success though with 27 adults, 7 kids & 5 dogs. We will do PCA camping again next year, hopefully I can book the same area on June 10-13 weekend if that works for everyone who wants to come again. The majority of campers came out on Friday, but here's the hardcode gang that came out Thursday. It started out as a beautiful evening... ...and then a brief rainstorm came, so we huddled under the awning and got to know each other real well. ๐ The autocross course was a highlight for everyone. Brodie is waiting for a sale and he will buy more cones for next year (totally not kidding, he will...) Hooray for the generous weight limit on the cart, yours truly got to participate! (FYI, my best time was 30.6 seconds.) The cutest course worker always vigilant to make sure the cones are correctly placed. This owl lurked around our perimeter catching mice on Friday morning. It was an incredible encounter, he flew feet from us over and over again. There he goes! ๐ฎ The picnic-bound Porsches arrive on Saturday: We were happy to have our WRR friends join us for lunch. You could immediately tell who was camping and who came from the city: they smelled nice and weren't sunburnt. We stationed ourselves here in the mornings and pretty much didn't move until lunchtime. That's what camping is all about! Camping is essentially a casual mingling extravaganza, but with beer because no one has to drive home, haha. ๐ After dinner, we gathered by the big firepit to settle in well into the night. The milky way made a shining appearance directly overhead around 1:00am. Brodie introduced everyone to the fine art of Fire Jenga! Late night mingling, but with more beer now. ๐ Over the weekend, there were new friendships formed, connections made, and joy all around. Even the dogs made some new friends. ๐ฅฐ

We have been asked if any members want to show their cars at the Oct 23-25 event, on Sat afternoon (Oct 24th). They have plenty of space for parking P-Cars. Here is a link with event details. If you are interested in participating please contact me and note this is not a WRR sponsored event. THX https://calgarygermanclub.ca/pages/events -

Iโll just say the underside now matches the topside. In cleanliness. ๐
-
I'm sensing a bit of a double entendre there, eh? ๐

Nothing more important than a clean undercarriage!
-
Now that's dedication.
-
The food alone was worth the drive! Great time and conversations - I won't admit to spending a couple days cleaning my undercarriage... maybe I just did ๐
-
Thanks for the great day, Danielle and crew. How do I get me some leftovers of that brisket?
