Winter skills event -  near the Calgary Airport

Come and hone your winter driving skills with instruction and professional timing setup so you can measure your progress throughout the day.

Optional:
Friday Feb 7th we will have an hour long-ish classroom training / hang out with friends at the Greens in NW Calgary.
The training presentation can also be viewed via Zoom.
Time, address and zoom link will be sent out via email.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about car control on snow & ice.
The course set-up will be more basic compared to our summer autocross courses due to winter conditions for added safety.

We will be running this a little differently than a summer autocross. Being an outdoor winter event we recognize that it could be really cold so there will be no corner worker volunteers on the course. You can hang out under the tent or in your vehicle to keep warm.

Which vehicles are ok to bring?

Bring your winter daily driver (doesn't have to be a Porsche), no trucks or tall vehicles.
Most SUV's are ok.
Some vehicles may be a case by case basis as per PCA rules.
If you have any questions about your vehicles eligibility please email autocross@porsche.ab.ca

Open to WRR PCA members only.

You can RSVP by clicking "Going" on the right side bar, but you must register through Motorsports Reg (link below) and complete payment to participate as a driver.

Please note the RSVP's are not a representation of the number of registrations.
Don't wait these events sell out fast.

Limited to 20 drivers

Registration deadline - Thursday February 6th, 2025 at midnight.

Is a G63 too large, or a Cayenne Turbo, or a Bronco?  I don’t have a smaller winter beater…..

Hi Yoon,
Yes that would be considered a large truck.

Small trucks like Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Nissan Frontier, etc. would be fine as long as they're not lifted.

Hi John,
That's my kind of "winter beater" list!

Cayenne would be a great choice for this event and the Bronco would be fine as well.

Update:
After further discussion we have decided to exclude trucks and tall vehicles from this event.
Most SUV's are fine.
If you have any questions about your vehicles eligibility please email autocross@porsche.ab.ca

Hi Brodie, this looks like a fun event!  I just registered on Haggerty, and want to also register my son for the same event, we plan to share my BMW.  Haggerty said he is now on a waitlist - please advise - thanks!

Hi Sohail,

When you registered there was only one spot left.
Your son is number one on the waitlist.
If there's a cancellation then he will get the spot.
