Talk of the town is that there are several camping aficionados amongst us car folk, so we thought, why not combine the two passions into one fun-filled weekend?
So we've reserved Group Site A at Sandy McNabb Campground for 2 nights (Friday July 4 - Sunday July 6)
It is a private & gated area which features 10 campsites in a loop with a green space in the middle (view image below).
Now since there is so much space in this pretty & private setting, we thought "why not combine this with the New Members BBQ and invite everyone out for lunch"? What a clever idea!
Big T's BBQ truck is coming out and providing the New Members BBQ lunch for us on Saturday at noon!
For those who aren't camping aficionados, a scenic drive will be organized to join the campers for the New Member BBQ lunch. (There is a picnic shelter here, but you may want to bring your own chairs.) We'll spend the afternoon together, play games on the field & maybe even sit around a campfire - yanno, make a day of it!
What exactly is the New Members BBQ?
Every year the club hosts a BBQ gathering to welcome new members into the Porsche family with open arms. All new & existing members are invited to join this day filled with fellowship, food & fun.
What's for lunch from Big T's BBQ?
Smoked Brisket on a bun
Coleslaw
Baked Beans
*Vegetarian black bean burger upon request: mention in the comments below if you want the vegetarian option
A few facts on the group campsite:
There are 10 powered campsites, each with it's own picnic table & firepit. (30 AMP power)
Maximum 15 units allowed. If we get more than 10 RSVP's, tents share a site with a trailer. If more than 15 couples/families want to join, they would reserve their own campsite in the regular campground, then come over to hang out with us.
Our area is gated assuring privacy for the BBQ lunch
Our area has a covered picnic shelter, potable water tap & toilets
