Danielle Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Events Planning Meeting - Open Call Do you have an idea for a drive, activity or event? Have you thought about volunteering for a day? If so, please join us for the 2025 events meeting over dee-licious Mexican fare! Event planning for the club is far beyond a 1 person job. We rely on members to make it all come together. The season is only a success when we have plenty of volunteers, it truly is a group effort. Here is a summary of what the club needs: Leads & Sweeps: All drives with more than 20 cars are divided into 2 groups. This means we need 2 lead cars & 2 sweep cars per drive. Drives with 30 cars will require 3 leads & 3 sweeps. The most important part about planning is to pre-arrange who will be the lead & sweeps for each event so we are not scrambling last minute trying to find volunteers. It would be ideal for each person who attends the meeting to volunteer to be lead or sweep for at least 1 drive, but 2 would be even better. Tour Organizers: Sure we need ideas, but what we need even more is people to make the idea happen. We need tour organizers. Tour organizers create the driving route, make prior arrangements at a restaurant, scope out a picnic site ahead of time, make sure waivers are signed, host the drivers meeting in the morning etc. The Ultimate Goal: At the meeting, we hope to fill the events calendar for the summer. Please come prepared with your idea hats on & your calendar so we can pick dates for all our events. Ideally, we like to have 2 events per month. It does not always have to be a lunch-based drive, it can be a car show, tech event, museum tour, nature walk etc. Date: Saturday, February 22 Time: 1:00 - 3:00 pm Location: Tacos Mexico Macleod - 7400 Macleod Trail SE #1 RSVP: CLICK HERE. Please log to RSVP. Then comment here how many people are coming with you so we can get an appropriately sized table. Quote
