911 Dash Cam

would like to install a dash cam in my 2017 911 991.2, any recommendations, it’s a Cabriolet so the rear camera would need be installed somewhere below the roof??

I recently purchased an Escort MAXcam 360c, a combined radar detector and webcam.  It only has a forward view.  Window suction cup and below mirror mounts are available.  It is magnetically attached to the mount for easy removal.  I have only used it a few times so not yet endorsing it.  I like the fact it is one combined unit and can be easily moved between vehicles.  The other thing I like is that it displays your speed real time in KPH or MPH.  I find this useful when driving an older U.S. spec car as it easy to see your speed in KPH, no conversion or squinting required.

It looks factory and is almost a perfect fit. 

Alternatively google for a 2017 Porsche 911 dongle and you will find a few plug an play adapters so you can get power for a camera and/or radar for you car by your mirror by utilizing an existing plug. Then pick the camera of your choice.

To be honest, you can't go wrong with a Viofo camera, I've had them in a number of P-Cars and daily drivers. Work great and less than $200.

If you aren't up for doing the leg work and install your self, definitely reach out to Mobile Solutions and they will set you up with everything you need.

+1 on Stirling's Viofo suggestion. I did a deep dive into various dash cams, and Viofo consistently tops the lists. The A119 is 2k and a steal at under $200 & the A329 is the best 4K at the $700 price point.

Naturally, I went for the A119, and it has worked flawlessly.
