Bob Kerr Posted July 31 Posted July 31 (edited) The BMW Club of Southern Alberta is hosting an another driver education event for young drivers. “The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS) is a hands-on driving experience in real-world situations. Students use their own car and learn about its handling limits and how they can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.” This is a well recognized training event that PCA is very supportive of and was instrumental in its creation many years ago. Many PCA regions across North America host these training sessions. While this is not a Wild Rose Region event we are happy to support the BMW Club with volunteers and instructors, and maybe a few students. We have had members send their young drivers to this training before and it has been well received. The event is on Sunday, September 13th from 9am to 5pm at the Rocky Mountain Motorsports facility just east of Carstairs. The BMW Club is looking for event volunteers, instructors/coaches (they provide training) and of course students.
