KevinJ
From Porsche... When Hans Herrmann and Jacky Ickx met on the opening night of the Rennsport Reunion, their delight was second to none. “It’s always wonderful to be reunited with so many drivers from the early days and talk about old times,” says the first Le Mans winner for Porsche (1970 in the 917K with Richard Attwood). “It is important for the future to keep these memories alive. The young drivers need to know how it was back then when the steering wheels were wooden and we had no computers like today.” When he meets Jacky Ickx, the conversation quickly turns to the 1969 episode when the Belgian beat him to the flag by mere seconds. But the bitter defeat also yielded something positive: “Ferdinand Piech was so annoyed that for 1970 he built a super engine and we then won with it.” Pictured: Richard Attwood, Gerard Larousse, Vic Elford, Jochen Mass, Jacky Ickx, Hans Hermann, Jürgen Barth, Hurley Haywood, Derek Bell, Gijs van Lennep, Nick Tandy, Hans-Joachim Stuck (l-r) Quote 22 Porsche Cayman GT4 21 BMW X5 Link to comment

KMR 968 Turbo
A wide array of Gulf livery 917's were on hand. Car #20 is the famous one driven by Steve McQueen in the movie LeMans and is currently owned by Jerry Seinfeld. You can see the mount by the window on the outside for the camera that took video of McQueen. So many Gulf 917's that there were even two with the same number - different cars though (see the headlights) Edited October 18, 2015 by KMR 968 Turbo Quote Link to comment
