When I 'blowed up' my 2.4mfi I replaced it with a used 2.0 carb. Never really noticed a power difference. You can rebuild a 2.2 up to a 2.5 as a project, but if the studs pull on the 2.7 the block might be kaput. Most rebuilders won't warrant a 2.7 rebuild. Good luck which ever way you go.

Thanks guys. I've PM'd Don to inquire about the engine a little more. There was nothing in his pictures showing the fuel delivery side so I sent a note to see if he had the MFI or Carbs as well.

And for clarity's sake, when he says it is sold as a core only he means that he doesn't warrant its running condition correct?

I'm guessing that's the case!

Usually that means no ancillary items like alternator, carbs, etc. You should ask if was running when last used, and if it turns over by hand.

Anyone ever had to repair the rear inner quarter panel skin before? I have a healthy amount of rust on the inside rear wheel housing under the quarter panel. There doesn't seem to be any repair panels available from the usual place to address this.
