KMR 968 Turbo
Not sure who, but it looks nice. I believe Rob C sold his to a guy in Edmonton and that it wasn't an S4. Maybe Malcolm knows? Quote Link to comment
malcolm
I do not know this car. The pictures show the car in very stock condition and does appear to be in good shape although I do note the engine bay seems untouched. There are questions on the BAT site that are unanswered on the condition of the cam timing belt and given the car is 26 years old may require many components to bring it to a very reliable point. The belt runs on 4 gears (cam x 2, oil pump and crank) the water pump and the tensioner all of which may have to be replaced. I also would pressurize the intake to check for air leaks and if detected would fully service all components associated with idle stability (ISV, MAF, injectors, gaskets, TPS, hoses etc). If anyone would like me to look at the car Im glad to do so. calgary7er
It's actually one of my friends that has a small collection of European cars (Bentley, Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes SL's and a couple of Porsche's). He has taken very good care of this one, and spent close to $6,000 with Mark at Alpine recently. I believe that he mentioned on BaT that he would assist with the T-Belt replacement if the purchaser wants it done, but Mark doesn't feel that it's needed, and that's why my friend hasn't replaced it. All due respect for the owner and Marc but the belt has a life expectancy based on miles and age. I'd buy the car and put a new belt on right away......just my opinion Quote '21 Macan GTS PDK Miami Blue/Black, 7k kms '93 928 GTS 5 speed Polar Silver/Linen, 192k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Black/Ivory, 190k kms '09 Cayenne GTS Tiptronic Nordic Gold/Black, +336k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Red/Champagne, 110k miles (US car) Link to comment
calgary7er
I do agree with Malcolm here, and have advised my friend to discuss having the belt changed asap. This will alleviate people's concerns, and raise his potential sale price as well. Will let everyone know what he says. Quote Link to comment

calgary7er
As per Bring a Trailer..."Seller will have timing belt complete for the new buyer and proof provided with invoice at sellers expense. I want to ensure a solid purchase for the next owner and also to quell any more questions about it". Malcolm, PM me and I will give you his contact information. Quote Link to comment

calgary7er
Sorry Malcolm, I tried but for some reason he was being reclusive. It sold to a buyer in Washington D.C. so unfortunately it's heading south. Quote Link to comment
