mrdunlop944
I have bought a 100% complete and running 1985/2 944 "Theft Recovery" the 944 runs, shifts and drives very well Everything works on this 944. Plans were to make this a track car but just not worth the efforts. Parting this one out is where I'm headed. Please note these are not my pictures and not my garage. unreal6
Hey Mike, Seems like a pretty nice parts car, the wheels, sport seats are especially tasty. That interior is a clone of my 951! Maybe I need some spares...? Let me know when you get her home. Quote Ian 65 T34 75 914 2.7-6 86 951 Link to comment
malcolm
whats wrong with the car to get it back on the road Mike? might make a good intro car for a new young member looking for a fixeruper. mrdunlop944
the way I see it is "Theft Recovery". Selling this to a club member would be a hard sell due to the fact there is no proof of any service history. The Maintenance and instructions manual are missing along with most other things that came with the car. Not sure why one would sink 10-15K$ into bringing this 944 back to life with a "Theft Recovery". Better off spending 15k$ on a fine example with known history than rebuild something you wouldn't be able to sell or recoupe some of your expenses. Looks like this Sunday the 944 will be coming home. malcolm
valid points Mike....... its too bad any Porsche gets to the point of no recovery Quote '21 Macan GTS PDK Miami Blue/Black, 7k kms '93 928 GTS 5 speed Polar Silver/Linen, 192k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Black/Ivory, 190k kms '09 Cayenne GTS Tiptronic Nordic Gold/Black, +336k kms '88 928 S4 A/T Red/Champagne, 110k miles (US car) Link to comment
mrdunlop944
My thoughts exactly Malcome, no Porsche deserves the graveyard however this 944 will keep other 944's alive by donating "selling" its organs to someone in need. ErikA
Too bad I don't have room for another project car. Or car period. I echo Malcolm's comment that it would be awesome to see this car kept together and put back on the road, but I'm partial to haggard junk cars! Good luck with the partout or sale. Keith Adams
Mike - I am mostly disappointed to learn you don't have swanky Persian rugs on your garage floor. -K Quote Link to comment
unreal6
Keith, I was as surprised as you to learn that lining your garage floor with Persian rugs has become all the rage. The trick, particularly for air cooled VW/Porsche owners, is to Scotch-Guard the bejeezes out of the rug beforehand so any errant oil drips don't soak in. It certainly adds an element of luxury to any garage theme. Given how fastidious Mike is in keeping his car so beautiful 100% of the time, I am quite certain that his garage has even nicer rugs than these ones.
