    2001 996 Convertible top issue

I was very excited to get my 2001 Cab out of it winter sleep over the last week right up until I took the cover off and noticed all the windows had dropped all on there own. I was unable to have a battery tender on them for the last 6 weeks so I put a 2 day charge on the battery. My convertible top rear body cover does not want to open with the dash button and when I use the manual tool to open the cover the top will retract but hesitates a bit. The side window are acting up as well. The passenger rear corner window will not go Down and the Drivers side front window will not go Up. When the top goes back up the body cover does not close and the dash light stays on.

I have checked all the fuses and the hydraulic fluid level. all good.

Has anyone had this issue? I am dreading the Diagnostic time cost at a shop.

What is the age and condition of the battery?

Does the engine start and if so is the alternator charging? I would have these questions answered before thinking theres other issues.

My thoughts exactly. The battery is 3 years old and is holding a good charge after it put the trickle charger on last week. The alternator is putting out "as new" power to the system. The car start with a quick turn of the key and the car idles nice.

I am trying to check any limit and position switches now.

given the car is a cab and the battery/charging system are good Id next look at the system that controls the window height as the top opens and closes..........search of Rennlist will probably provide some other points to consider.
