KMR 968 Turbo
Folks......Im looking for advice from anyone who has added a brake controller to their Cayenne. We already tow the boat with no issues but just added a travel trailer thats 4500lbs. Appreciate thoughts on make and install......thx. I thought the controller came built in with the tow package. But I guess not. Here is what I found on the web: https://www.etrailer.com/vm/Porsche/Cayenne/bc or https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK955PLUG.html And here is a good thread on Rennlist on the topic: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-958-2011/969324-where-did-you-mount-your-trailer-brake-controller-958-a.html Quote Link to comment

malcolm
Follow up for those interested; I bought a Teknosha Prodigy 90250 which is their RF brake controller. http://www.tekonsha.com/products/brake-controllers/proportional-controllers/trailer-brake-control-proportional/TzaIxkVx1cI5XOy!osRB508pViEKmVBf Using a RF device has many benifits the biggest for me is not having to splice into the factory harness and you dont hard mount a device above the footwell . The handheld RF unit essentially plugs into the 12v source near the driver and mounting the controller on the trailer. Following a number of modified steps you pair the 2 together so when sensing the brake pedal is depressed the electric brakes on the trailer operate. Its then a matter of fine tuning the trailer brakes so they dont lock then off you go. If interested in the 'modified steps' I can further explain (newsletter article?) Now the question is how to get the trailer and the boat to the lake?...........I know, buy another Cayenne!!!!!
