herve_g
Hi all, I'm going to do the 2.5 days performance driving academy at Area27 in a month. Their track prep guide do no indicate a minimum tread depth for the tires. I have about 4.4mm (between 5/32" and 6/32") left on all 4 tires on my Cayman S. Do you guys think this is enough? Perci
Your tires are probably half worn (new is 8/32+) so you should be okay, but keep an eye on them. Minimum legal is 2/32, so measure when you get home. Make sure your air pressures are set properly before you go. herve_g
Great, that's what I was thinking. Thanks for the confirmation Perci. And I'll definitely keep an eye on tires/pressure. Quote Link to comment
Perci
FYI I found this on the Canada West website: Tires DOT approved, minimum H-rated, min 3/32″ tread depth, no cuts, cracks and not below wear bar or R-compound tires in good condition with no exposed cords And I know they run at Area 27. herve_g
Area27 finally wrote back to me. They don't do a tech inspection of the cars participating at all, but tires should have a tread depth of minimum 1/8". I should be alright for the week-end, then probably get new shoes when I get back home. Quote Link to comment
