Wrr-diy q#2: Will these fit

Paul

Recommended Posts

Ok, need some advice from the experts:confused:. Going to take a look at the seats Gasper has for sale on Saturday morning. They are comfort seats from an 89 turbo, electric.

Question is, will these fit on my existing frame rails (81 sc manual)? not to concerned about the wiring, thats Franks problem:rolleyes:, but more so about whether its a simple "plug and play" or if this is a bigger "problem". Really don't want to get into fabricating extensions, etc as that is far beyond my skill set.

Thanks for any and all advise.

Hi Paul

Can't give you a 100% certainty on compaibility here, however given that bodywork and floor pans remained largely unchanged from from late 60's to 1989 for first generation 911's suspect you don't have too much at risk here.

Will suggest you offer a "conditional sale" to the seller. The condition being that the seats actually fit in your SC.

If they fit, then your only remaining liability will be Frank's "skills" with wiring & electricity! ;)

Good day to be working on P cars .... providing your garage is heated!!

Thanks Rick,

Took all the measurements last night and looked at the seats this morning. Seems to be a simple plug and play (famous last words)! Needless to say the seats now have new owner and look much better than in the pictures. Now have another project to tackle. First up is to hit the nearest equestrian shop for some Lexol cleaner and conditioner and all should be good.
